| A Brief History |
JHB
began with a request from a friend to Mrs. Jean H. Barr, CEO. Mrs. Barr
was preparing to leave on a European buying trip for her family
business and was asked to find a specific style of sweater button. She
fulfilled that request and began her company in the basement of her
Denver home. From this modest beginning, the company has grown to be
one of the major suppliers of fashion, novelty and basic buttons in the
United States and is the international leader in novelty buttons. The
company was incorporated in 1969 under JHB IMPORTS, INC. and adopted
the trade name of JHB INTERNATIONAL, INC. In 1980.
In 1974,
the company, which had outgrown the original basement plus three rental
locations, moved into the JHB Imports building, located at 1955 South
Quince Street in Denver, Colorado. At that time, approximately 70
people were on staff. There have been expansions to the initial 10,000
square foot building over the years, with the last one being a
two-story addition completed in 1994. The building now has
approximately 45,000 square feet of space. Many employees have been
with JHB International for over a decade. Several have celebrated their
25th anniversary! The company is open from 7:00 AM until 5:30 PM to
facilitate telephone orders from coast to coast. |

| Exports |
 |
| Exporting
began in the late 1970s and has become an exciting phase of the
business that has placed the name of JHB International before many
firms throughout the world. Currently exporting into 39 countries, the
company has established an international network of JHB distributors.
An aggressive program to broaden this coverage is in future plans. |

| JHB Facility Tours |
 |
| We
enjoy sharing our love of buttons and offer tours of the company. Tours
include the Product Development Department, Import and Export
operations, Shipping, Receiving, Sales & Marketing, Data
Processing, Accounting and Carding activities. JHB is one of the few
companies that continues to custom hand-card. This process, although
labor intensive, enables JHB to include the delicate and beautiful
buttons for which the company is known throughout the world! If you are
in the Denver area and wish to visit or would like to schedule a tour
for your group or company, please contact us! |
